Why DaVinci Resolve is Better than Premiere Pro!

Long story short, ever since version 12, DaVinci Resolve has to be considered as one of the top video editing software on the product. Even professionals have made the switch from Adobe Premiere Pro to Blackmagic’s flagship program. This is especially the case after Adobe’s AI use scandal. 

Premiere Pro has long been the choice and this was also the case for me. However, recently I did make the changes to DaVinci Resolve since the overall editing experience is simply better. I will try to highlight why in the following paragraphs. 

DaVinci Resolve was, in the past, practically a color grading app. Right now, it is simply a full video editor. It has fantastic color tools and so much more. Just keep in mind that there are many more features than what i am going to talk about. 

DaVinci Resolve Is Fast

One of the biggest frustrations with editing software is that they tend to be really slow. This is not the case with Resolve. Most offers included were created with the secondary goal of simplifying editing workflow and do this really fast. 

While at first glance you will be a little overwhelmed by the user interface, this is only because of the sheer number of features available. After you get used to everything, you quickly figure out everything is very fast. 

The number one thing you absolutely have to remember when it comes to speed is that Resolve is incredibly fast for rendering the finished video. In many cases, a video is rendered 10 times faster than Adobe Premiere Pro, which is incredibly impressive. 

Both Classic And Innovative

DaVinci Resolve gives you access to several of the best tools we see in various similar programs. This includes the classic features people are familiar with, like track-based editing, and even new features that are innovative. 

Because of the inclusion of several classic features editors are already used to, transitioning to Resolve is very easy and intuitive. The first impact you get when you look at it is that it is too much. But, everything is intuitive, you only need minutes to get used to all that the software offers, and there are countless free tutorials you can watch just by going to YouTube. 

Versatility

When you read reviews written by video editors, you often see this aspect highlighted. It is very hard to argue with it since Resolve offers high versatility. 

The program allows you to use almost all file formats and even translation files. And you can then easily output your work into those exact formats. Basically, the program manages to remove a big problem others have, which is the need to use converters. 

DaVinci Resolve Is Free

There is a Studio version available for DaVinci Resolve. But the truth is that it is best-used by people who edit videos at a very high quality. For most users, all that is needed is available in the free version. How many of us need content at more than 60fps and UHD resolution?

Compare this with the subscription model used by Adobe. You can only install your software on a number of machines and if you accept the terms and conditions, Adobe actually gets to use anything that you do in the cloud, together with several other shady practices.

Final Thoughts

Premiere Pro was for years a huge market leader for Windows computers but this is changing. Adobe’s shady market practices and the fact that there are several other options available that are comparably better mean you can finally move away.
